New branches of chemistry are emerging and gaining importance, such as bioorganic chemistry, materials chemistry computational chemistry etc. The emerging Chemical Technologies are highly science based .The aid of computers has not only accelerated growth in the practice of Chemistry but revolutionized the entire field.

M.Sc. Chemistry is a two year post graduate programme designed to provide Knowledge and skills to the students and train the students for future career in Chemistry. This course opens the doors to a large number of career options such as career in pharmaceutical industry, textile industry, environment conservation, perfume industry, forensic science, metallurgy etc. and also career in teaching and research.

The department has smart classrooms and well equipped labs with advanced instruments such as UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, Spectro fluorophotometer, FT-IR , rotary vacuum evaporator, high precision balances and many more.

Eligibility Criteria :

The candidates should have passed B.Sc/B.Sc.(Hons.)with Chemistry as an elective subject with minimum 50% marks

Eligibility Criteria:

The Candidate must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination with Science group (Medical) from Punjab School Education Board or a Board equivalent thereto. The candidates who are awarded grades shall be required to produce conversion formula for converting the scored grade into percent marks. The admission will be made purely on merit basis.
