Master of Science In Agriculture is post graduate academic degree programme consisting 5 important agriculture subjects such as Plant Breeding and Genetics, Agronomy, Soil Science and Agriculture Chemistry. Two Horticulture subjects such as Vegetable Science and Fruit Science are successfully running in our Department of Agriculture to cater the needs of farmers, industeries and research agencies to meet their requirements. Our Department has highly qualified faculty with good publication records, well-equipped laboratory and experimental farm for conducting research trails for partial fulfilment of thesis work of master degree programs.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. The candidate should have passed Bachelor degree in Agricultural Science with minimum 50% marks. The admission will be made through entrance test.
2. Enterance test will be held on First Week of August.

B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) is the acronym for the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. The 10+2 Science stream (Medical & Non-Medical) qualified students, who have an interest in the sector of agriculture, may pursue this course as B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.). Since India is an agrarian country, this field will never run out of job opportunities. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture is a four years Undergraduate Degree program consisting of courses such as Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Extension Education, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Food technology and Animal Husbandry. Apart from this, supporting courses in Basic Sciences and Agricultural Engineering which bring awareness and helps to boost agricultural profession in India are also available. Our course curriculum is designed on the basis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, PUSA Campus, New Delhi in which last semester is for Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) for skill development of students in which they interact with farmers, Scientist and entrepreneurs through village attachment, experiential learning by industrial attachment, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and visits to different Agricultural Universities of India. Several Government and Private Job opportunities may attract the graduates. Talking about Government jobs, State Agriculture Departments recruits Graduates to fill up Officer level jobs [ADO, HDO, BDO, AOs, FOs, JE (Hort.) etc.]. Government Banks also recruit graduates to fill up Officer level jobs and private sector like pesticide, insecticide, fertilizer and seed companies are also open for students.

Departments
Agriculture
Department of Agriculture has established in 2012 keeping in view the National and International Agriculture scenario in mind, with the Under Graduate program- B.Sc. (Hons.) agriculture keeping with an objective to cater to the need of rural youth and farming communities of the region. Simultaneously, Postgraduate programs were started during session 2014-15 in the subjects namely Agronomy, Horticulture-Fruit Science, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Soil Science, and Agricultural Chemistry, Horticulture-Vegetable Science and start M.Sc. Horticulture-Floriculture and Landscape architecture in the year 2019-20. We visualized our department to work as a connection between Farmers- Students, Farmers- Scientists, Farmers- Innovative Technologies, and Farmers- Environment Saving. The course curriculum is designed on the basis of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. The fourth-year is designed under ICAR of Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) for skill development of students, in which they interact with farmers, Scientist, and entrepreneurs through village attachment, experiential learning by industrial attachment, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), and visits to different Agricultural Universities of India. Our Department has qualified faculty with good academic and research profiles, well-equipped laboratory, and 50 acres experimental farm for conducting research trails. In the laboratories, we have the latest types of equipment, instruments, and sufficient chemicals for conducting experiments like soil testing, seed quality testing, diagnosing plant samples for diseases and insects attack, milk testing and land surveying, etc, that enable students in tackling problems encountered by farmers in farming. The infrastructural facilities of the department include Agricultural farm equipped with farm machinery for providing training to students in all practical (through teaching at the college Farms) aspects of soil, water, and crop management.
Department of Agriculture has an experimental farm at Kharora. The farm is spread over an area of 50-acre land, and used for research, demonstration block, nutritional garden, organic block, fruit orchard of different crops like guava, sapota, Mango High Density Plantation, Citrus crops like Kinnow, Daisy, Jaffa and a Germplasm bank of various fruit crops, floriculture, medicinal plant, vegetable block, agronomical field, Agro- meteorological automatic weather station and various agricultural field types of equipment such as Johndere Tractor, disc harrow, cultivator, seed drill, leveller, etc. For the Agriculture graduate, there are massive opportunities in departmental jobs in the state government (ADO, BDO, HDO), bank jobs (PO, AO, RDO), field officer, etc. The Agriculture students can also avail opportunities in the central research institutes as Project Assistant, Senior Research Fellows, Technical/Research Assistants, and in academics jobs as Assistant Professor in agricultural colleges and Universities after qualifying NET. In the private sector, jobs are also available in the industries of pesticides, fertilizer, and seed production. If the students are not satisfied with jobs they have the best opportunity to be an entrepreneur and provide jobs to others. Many alumni of the department have risen to exalted positions and gained recognition both at national and international levels. Various training and extension activities for farmers like Kisan Mela, farmer’s training on strawberry cultivation, exotic vegetable production, and mushroom cultivation to enhance the income of our farmers.
