B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) is the acronym for the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. The 10+2 Science stream (Medical & Non-Medical) qualified students, who have an interest in the sector of agriculture, may pursue this course as B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.). Since India is an agrarian country, this field will never run out of job opportunities. Bachelor of Science in Agriculture is a four years Undergraduate Degree program consisting of courses such as Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Extension Education, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Food technology and Animal Husbandry. Apart from this, supporting courses in Basic Sciences and Agricultural Engineering which bring awareness and helps to boost agricultural profession in India are also available. Our course curriculum is designed on the basis of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, PUSA Campus, New Delhi in which last semester is for Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) for skill development of students in which they interact with farmers, Scientist and entrepreneurs through village attachment, experiential learning by industrial attachment, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and visits to different Agricultural Universities of India. Several Government and Private Job opportunities may attract the graduates. Talking about Government jobs, State Agriculture Departments recruits Graduates to fill up Officer level jobs [ADO, HDO, BDO, AOs, FOs, JE (Hort.) etc.]. Government Banks also recruit graduates to fill up Officer level jobs and private sector like pesticide, insecticide, fertilizer and seed companies are also open for students.

The admission in B.Com I (Semester I) shall be open to the students who have secured
- At least 40% marks in aggregate in case of student who has passed I0+2 with commerce group.OR
- At least 45% marks in aggregate in case of student who has passed I0+2 in humanities group with at least two out of Commerce/Accounts/ Math/Economics/Management papers. OR
- At least 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 with Science (Medical or Non-Medical) OR
- At least 50% marks in aggregate in 10+2 with any other subjects.

Department of Commerce is offering B.Com (Accounting & Finance) so as to fulfill the requirements of such students who aspire to be a part of this growing finance field. PG Department of Commerce is running B.Com. (Accounting & Finance) since 2010-11
Eligibility Criteria:
- 40% marks in aggregate in case of students who have passed 10+2 with Commerce group. OR
- 45% marks in aggregate in case of student who has passed I0+2 in humanities group with at least two out of Commerce/Accounts/ Math I Economics/Management papers. OR
- 50% marks in the aggregate in case of student who have passed 10+2 but not covered under (a) and (b) above OR
- Students who opt for any one of the following Vocational subjects should have passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks:
- Office Management and Secretarial Practice.
- Principles and Practice of Insurance.
- Tax Procedure and Practice.

Post graduate Department of Commerce is running Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) successfully since 2015-16. Pedagogy used in this course involves use of case studies, seminars and presentations to equip the students with practical knowledge.

- 40% marks in aggregate in case of students who have passed 10+2 with Commerce group. OR
- 45% marks in aggregate in case of student who has passed I0+2 in humanities group with at least two out of Commerce/Accounts/ Math I Economics/Management papers. OR

Commerce
Post Graduate Department of Commerce was established in the year 1990. The Department provides well diversified and specific knowledge to the students in the key areas of Commerce through well planned, market relevant and latest syllabi. The Department always strives for excellence in providing quality education with latest pedagogy tools like case studies, quiz, presentations, seminars etc. The Department boasts of its alumni settled successfully in various fields like civil services, judiciary, corporate world, entrepreneurship, chartered accountancy, teaching etc.
The Department offers Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) which was introduced in the year 1990 with 120 seats. The Department added another feather in the cap by introducing Master of Commerce (M.Com) in the year 2004-05. With changing times, the Department has updated itself and introduced market relevant and professional courses of B.Com (Professional) and B.Com (Accounting & Finance) in the academic year 2010-11. In the year 2013-14 M.Com (Finance) was introduced. As per guidelines of UGC, B.Com (Professional) was replaced with new course as B.Com (Hons.) in the academic year 2015-16.
The Department has good infrastructure in terms of projectors, interactive boards and well furnished classrooms. The Department has a well equipped library and computer lab to augment the habits of reading and learning among the students. The Department has very active, diligent and hardworking faculty. Apart from teaching, the faculty also discharges administrative duties in the capacity of Dean Academics, Admission Cell Convener, College Bursar, NSS Program Officer, College Magazine Editor etc. The faculty is actively engaged in research work also.
