Like the crest of the peacock, like the gem on the head of a snake, so is Mathematics at the head of all knowledge. That is why Carl Friedrich Gauss rightly said, “Mathematics is the queen of all sciences.”

Our course of study is rigorous, but our atmosphere is friendly and encourages close collaboration between faculty and students. The objective of the Department is to transform young students into competent and motivated professionals with sound theoretical and practical knowledge.

The overall goal is for our students to excel in research and to ultimately become leaders in their field.
